Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Police Officers for Christ is a non-denominational Christian Fraternal Organization.  Our purpose is to share with others within the New York City Police Department and beyond the gospel (good news) of God's gift of salvation and eternal life through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.  The good news we share is that of God's love, mercy, and grace which He has made available to all who believe and put their trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Police Officers for Christ wishes to bring together through fellowship meetings, outreach ministry, spiritual retreats, recreational activities, and annual events all Christian uniform and civilian members of the department, their families, friends and all others who are members of this organization. The purpose of coming together in fellowship is to worship and praise our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to pray, encourage and uplift one another,  to read and learn from God's word (The Holy Bible), to enjoy each other through fun filled events,  to love on one another,  to come together as our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has commanded us to do, being many members but yet having one body in Jesus Christ, with Him being the head of this body of believers.

We encourage you to participate in our monthly fellowship meetings and other events.  For further information on times and places of meetings, future events, membership and other information, please visit the P.O.F.C.'s  website at or send us an email at or give us a call at 646-330-3054.

In the year of 1977  New York City Police Officer Gerald Francis in a prayer asked God to forgive him of all his sins, asked Jesus Christ to come into his heart and to be his Lord and Savior, thus becoming a Christian.  Officer Francis was then led by the Holy Spirit to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to his fellow officers.  He then began to meet in fellowship with other officers and formed this organization which was named at the time "Cops for Christ".

In the year of 1981 "Cops for Christ" was incorporated and in the year of 1982 the organization received official departmental recognition and was recognized by the New York City Housing and Transit Police Departments as an "Evangelical Fraternal Organization".

In the year of 1987 "Cops for Christ" was formally accepted into the New York City Police Department's Committee of Police Societies (C.O.P.S.) and in that same year this organization's name was changed from "Cops for Christ" to "Police Officers For Christ, New York Area, Inc.".

Today, as an organization Police Officers For Christ (P.O.F.C.) continues to bring others together in fellowship, continues to help those that are in spiritual need, continues to encourage those that are discouraged, continues to come along side to help strengthen those that are weak, continues to speak life into the lives of those in difficult situations, continues to lead those that are lost and hurting to Jesus Christ, and most importantly continues to share the message of God's love and His plans of Salvation through His Son Jesus Christ, all to the glory of God the Father.

Romans 1:16 - For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes (NLT).

May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ continue to keep and bless you all
